LMC Announces New Transitional Housing Complex

Life Management Center of Northwest Florida broke ground on a new 4 unit, 16 bed transitional housing apartment complex for adults with mental illness on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
These transitional homes will serve Life Management Center clients with mental health conditions who don’t meet the criteria for inpatient hospitalization and may not be able to live independently in the community. These persons will be able to receive treatment at an appropriate level of care closer to the location of their mental health care team. Clients will stay as long as necessary for stabilization with a goal of reintegrating successfully in the community in less than 12 months.
“This new transitional housing complex will provide a much needed and necessary continuum of care for Life Management Center clients” said Life Management Center President and CEO Ned Ailes. These apartment style units will provide an appropriate and supportive environment for individuals to receive services in a home-like environment as they stabilize in their recovery and are supported with their transition back home and into the community.”
The construction of this new complex is the result from a funding bill passed by the Florida Legislature and approved by the Governor. The bill was sponsored by Representative Jason Shoaf and Senator George Gainer during his last term in office and supported by then Representative Jay Trumbull. Additional funding for the project was approved and provided by the Life Management Center Board of Directors.
The complex will serve individuals with mental illness who are active clients receiving treatment from Life Management Center. Life Management Center anticipates a grand opening and to have the complex operational before Spring 2024.
