Adoptive & Foster Home Training

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent and/or adopting you will first need to complete our Inquiry Form. Click here to complete the Inquiry Form.

Your next step is to enroll in the no-cost Quality Parenting Training. The training is designed to:

  • Help families make informed decisions about fostering/adopting;
  • Help families understand their important roles and commitments as a member of the foster care/adoption team; and
  • Prepare families to navigate the foster care/adoption system.

The classes are typically three hours and are held one night a week for seven weeks. All classes are held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Orientation must be completed before attending classes and may be completed online. Click here to complete the orientation.

Schedule

Unless otherwise noted classes are once a week, beginning with dates listed below. Classes times may vary. NOTE FOR EXPEDITED CLASSES: First class for Bay county will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm and first class for Jackson county will be from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.  The remainder of the classes will follow the posted schedule.

Note: All adult household members are required to receive this certification.  Due to the sensitive nature of the training material, children are not permitted to attend Foster Care & Adoption Training Classes.
